Soprano Kathryn Rose Johnston (BMus U of T, MMus UBC) is an active performer on the Canadian opera scene. She was recently a finalist in the National Capital Opera Society Competition and was a young artist in Confluence Concerts’ 2024 Side-by-Side program. Recent operatic roles include an Ontario tour as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance; Musetta in La bohéme (COSA Canada), Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, First Wood Sprite in Rusalka, (UBC Opera) and she premiered Princess Shirin in Echoes of Bi-Sotoon with Cultureland Opera Collective. Kathryn is also a voice teacher at Bravo Academy in Toronto and is a member of the Heliconian Club.
